Candy FAQs

Can I make my own candy at home?

If you have some time and a few tools, you can make many different kinds of candy at home. You will want to read about the type of candy you want and look up what it takes to make it. You will probably need a couple pots of certain sizes and a candy thermometer to make sure the confection is at the perfect temperature. Look up candy recipes, and you will have all the information you need.

Can you find any candy in a sugar-free variety?

Almost all candies have a sugar-free counterpart. Hard candy and chocolate can be made with different sweeteners for diabetics and those on a diet. If you can’t find the exact candy you are looking for without sugar, you will probably be able to find something very similar. Just be sure to keep in mind that just because it is sugar-free doesn’t mean you can eat a lot of it.

Where can I find candy I can be sure doesn’t have certain ingredients in it?

If you are allergic to something such as peanuts, you can find peanut-free candy at many specialized candy stores. These stores have realized that some people need special candy made, and cater to that. You can find candy that has other nuts substituted for peanuts, or dark chocolate that contains no dairy products whatsoever.
